When you join Mile High Farmers, you become part of a diverse community of Denver metro area producers, farmers, local food advocates, community allies, and supporters who share a passion for agriculture, and a commitment to social, environmental, and economic justice. Members of Mile High Farmers share resources, educate one another, and advocate together for policy changes that strengthen our community.
Mile High Farmers stands in solidarity with the movement for Black lives and against the brutality of Black, Indigenous, Latinx and Trans bodies by the police. We stand with protestors exercising their constitutional right to assemble, speak freely and petition their government for redress of systematic insecurity and injustice. We stand against any form of rhetorical or physical violence being perpetrated against them.
2021-2026 National Young Farmers Coalition Strategic Plan
We believe we have one generation to transform agriculture in service to our communities and the land. We are that generation.
Over the past year, the National Young Farmers Coalition undertook a collaborative and radical reenvisioning of the work to chart a path toward realizing a bold vision for the future of agriculture. The strategic planning process involved deep network engagement over the course of eight months, centering the demonstrated leadership of Black, Indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC) farmers, partners, board and staff. By centering BIPOC leadership, we strive to both confront the historical and ongoing violence against BIPOC communities intrinsic to our food system and to orient agriculture toward the realization of justice and a world defined by equitable outcomes. Racial justice is foundational to making farm policy that honors our vision for the future.
